BIM Implementation for Design and Build

Infrastructure projects in Thailand, such as the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project, form part of the economy’s major growth engine. All underground MRT projects in Thailand adopt a “Design & Build” procurement process to expedite completion of the project. There is a need for the right coordinated design drawings during the design stage to enable to the contractor to commence construction early. To achieve this, BIM is used. The contractor uses BIM to confirm the structural provision relating to MEP before commencing construction.
